Vinicius Jr Offers Apology to Real Madrid Fans
The forward has registered five goals in ten Spanish league appearances this season.
The Madrid giants attacker Vinicius Jr has apologised to fans for his response when taken off in Sunday's heated match against Barcelona triumph.
Vinicius was replaced in the 72nd min and showed his disappointment by walking immediately off the pitch.
He eventually reappeared to the sidelines and, following his club's narrow triumph, sought to engage the opposition's youngster Yamal during unsavoury after the game scenes.
"Today I want to express regret to all the supporters for my response when I was taken off in the Clasico," the player shared on X.
"In the same way as I have said in person during today's practice, I wish to express regret anew to my teammates, the team, and the club president.
"At times fervor takes over me because I always want to triumph and support my club. My competitive character comes from the passion I have for this institution and all it symbolizes."
He signed for Madrid from Brazil in 2018 for £38.7m and has notched triple figures in more than 300 games.
But his career in the Spanish capital is unclear with speculation in lately suggesting that the club would consider allowing the young star move on if they were to receive a suitable offer.
When he was replaced on Sunday, cameras from network Dazn captured him stating: "Always me! I'm exiting the club! It's wiser if I depart, I'm leaving."
In his most recent statement on the platform, the athlete said: "I commit to keep fighting constantly for the good of Los Blancos, as I have performed since the very beginning."
